The Food Pantry has had a productive year. We have increased the number of recipients from 2 – 4 Families (average of 8 to 16 individuals) per week to 10 – 16 families (averageof 40 – 64 individuals) per week.
Due to increasing demands for Food Pantry services, the labor required to support this outreach mission has increased exponentially.

This includes: 1) Monday – pickup of food from the San Antonio Food Bank (see below) and food shopping at local food stores for additional items; 2) Tuesday – registration for all clients and dispersal of food items to eligible clients; 3)Thursday – review and ordering of food items from the SAFB. There are four volunteers who “man” the Food Pantry on Tuesdays. The four volunteers include: Rev. Ava Lee Helms, Bob Monaghan, Sharon Tucker and Sarah Warren

Through the Faith Community of Alamo  Heights we are able purchase shelf stable foodand produce from the San Antonio Food Bank (SAFB).The Food Pantry has been blessed several times through this year.
The first was a 7th grade girl from Alamo Heights Junior School.
Our second blessing was the Fiber Artist of San Antonio.
The most recent blessing was a gift of $1600.00 an anonymous donor
from Christ Lutheran Church (a member of the Faith Community of Alamo Heights).
Our next blessing was from Christ Lutheran Church.
The Alamo Heights Police and Fire Department had a food and money drive for the AHCC Food Pantry.
